Esma Kahoul brings a robust background in neuroscience and hands-on laboratory experience. She recently earned her Master’s degree in neurosciences and biotechnologies from the University of Bordeaux, specializing in Molecular and Cellular Neurosciences.

Her practical experience is directly aligned with the work of our electrophysiology team. During a research internship, Esma’s work focused on studying axonal sodium channels in murine models of channelopathies. This involved preparing mouse brain slices and performing whole-cell patch-clamp recordings. Her final Master’s project involved the exploration of neuronal activity, where she utilized confocal microscopy and RT-qPCR.

In addition to her research-focused roles, Esma worked for over seven years as a laboratory technician, a position she held while concurrently pursuing her studies. This long-term role highlights her commitment to quality control, autonomous work, and managing emergency situations.

Esma’s extensive experience with brain slice preparation, electrophysiological recording, and data analysis using tools like MATLAB and GraphPad makes her a valuable addition to our team.
